Tips for Maintenance and Using of Power Tools - Metabo |
General Using
- The environmental condition is clean and dry
- Wear gloves, safety shoes, and other protective equipment.
- Using must be appropriate with capacity: the use of 6 hours, 1 hour off
- Use the right equipment and accessories
- Use a clamp/vise to the work piece
- Turn off the unit when changing accessories
- Extension-cable in accordance with the capacity of input power
- Turn off the power when the usage is finished
- Check power tools before use
- Repairing in event of damage is done at authorized service center
Periodic Maintenance
- Daily maintenance: clean with a dry brush or compressed air
- Three-month maintenance: completely inspection
- Clean motor housing with a dry brush, compressed air, or with liquid cleaning (if necessary)
- Check gear box: clean grease/bearings and lubrication
- Check the temperature of the motor, whether it stays on normal
Lubrication Using the right grease according to its type and amount
Gear Box and Gear
- Gear boxes are cleaned with oil/diesel fuel and dry with pressurized air
- Cleaning the gears with oil/diesel fuel, check for wear, replace if it damaged
Motor Set Check the rotor:
- Short circuit on field-coil and commutator
- Scraping with other spareparts
Bearings It must be turned in subtlely, if: - Dirty: clean bearing with kerosene or diesel fuel and drying it -Damage: replace the bearing with a new -It does not exposed to the kerosene
Gasket & Seal - The surface of the gasket should be flat and should not be wrinkled or damaged -Check the o-ring resiliency and should not be touching the rough surface -Check the felt seals -It does not exposed to kerosene
Carbon Brush When carbon brush used up, it is replaced with a new (original) -Counterfeit brushes can destroy commutator and speed up the damage of motor
